Can I use a flat/curling iron on synthetic hair extensions?

I am getting hair extensions soon for my prom, and I am going to style them myself using either a curling iron, flat iron, or waver - i dont know yet, but something that involves heat. If i get synthetic extensions (much cheaper haha..), will they melt or burn from the heat of some sort of iron? I am planning on wearing these extensions after prom too, so i dont want them to get ruined! is it worth the extra money to get real human hair extensions?

thanks =]

xCan I use a flat/curling iron on synthetic hair extensions?
Human hair extensions are worth their price. They are beautiful, and you can do whatever you want with them. You can wash them, curl them, straight them, even dye them! And with the synthetic ones you can only use them once, and that is the way you buy them. Heat completely destroys them. Plus, once you put them on, and you sweat, they will get nasty and tangle. People can feel that they are fake and they even look fake. Human hair extensions cost quite a bit more but are worth it.Can I use a flat/curling iron on synthetic hair extensions?
Noo don't do that it will melt or burn...I think you can buy hair extensions already curled or straighted

Synthetic hair extensions?

can they be colored with hair dye? thanksSynthetic hair extensions?
real hair extension can but your best bet is to go buy the color you are looking for if you are white go to a black hair store we have a larger hair base belive me my mom use to teach at a hair school for whites and blackSynthetic hair extensions?
NO, synthetic hair extentions cannot be colored in fact, the color wont even take. They dont last very long (meaning the way they will look) they start looking very nappy. Go with real hair extentions ONLY!

for any more questions!
nope synthetic is pretty much plastic, and you cant do anything with them. cant curl or straighten either

get human hair =)
no they cant. you have to get human hair for that. i got ';black diamond'; hair and dyed it black last night. it looks great. I used ';Fusion'; powder hair color b/c its not really harsh (did not want to ruin the hair).
sorry i dont know
I DONT KNOW PROBABLY BUT IVE GOT NON-REAL ONE IN JUST NOW AND THERE ALL READY COLOURED! AND REALLY CUTE I LOVE EM!!! I WOULD JUST GET READY COLOURED ONES SO MUCH EASIER! MINES CAME IN A SET CALLED CARMEN GIRLS!
What Kelly-Ash said

For people who want to dye their synthetic hair extensions...?

Everyone says that you can not dye synthetic hair extensions

but the thing is you can!

all you need is the right stuff,

first off, this is for people who want to put leopard print or coon stripes in your extensions.

you need the type of temporary dye that you put on and go, you do not need to wash it off. most of these dyes come out in one wash so its perfect for extension.

you pour the dye into a bowl and apply to extensions.

tie a ribbon on top of a thin piece of cardboard then clip the extension to the ribbon

brush the extension and smooth out with hands

for coon stripes- take a Popsicle stick and dip it into the dye, then apply it in stripes.

for leopard print- with a Popsicle stick draw circles on the hair

make sure to hold the hair down with one hand while doing this

next un-clip the hair and carefully hang it from a wire hanger or anything else that it will hang from

please post comments on what you think of this, i was just tired of people saying this is not possible.

let it fully dry then comb through a lot of times

put them on and have fun :DFor people who want to dye their synthetic hair extensions...?
you cant dye synthetic hair extensions with real hair dye... but with the spray paint hair dye i don't see why not because it doesn't have the cemicals in it.

so if your going to dye your synthetic hair extentions with box coloring dont do it u could ruin it but yes with the temp dye like that u should be fine......

its good to clear that up

  • What all can you do with synthetic hair extensions?

I have some pink, 80% Modacrylic / 20% PVC clip-in hair extensions that I bought at Hot Topic. The packaging say I can curl, crimp, straighten, and blow dry them. I was wondering if it is safe to use hairspray on them as long as I wash them. And what other things can I do with them?

It also says not to dye them. But I have seen many people dye synthetic extensions to create coon tails or fade patterns. So, can I dye them or not? What all can you do with synthetic hair extensions?
synthetic hair is plastic so you can't do anything but mildly curl it..are you a female or male!

How can I make my synthetic hair extensions look a bit more real.?

I bought synthetic hair extensions mistakenly.

Now I need to know how to make them look a bit damaged.

    So it matches my hair.

    I mean, my hair isn't plastic y'know?

So it's not gonna look like that.

    Any words of advice?

I was thinking of soaking them in the hot tub, yes I know that's a dumb idea, but I figured the chemicals would damaged them to a point. How can I make my synthetic hair extensions look a bit more real.?
while my first suggestion would be just to real human hair, but using a lot of products on your synthetic hair would hep some eg; mousse, hair sheen etc.How can I make my synthetic hair extensions look a bit more real.?
Hmm.. you can't really make it look real because it looks like shiny plastic lol.

I think it is best to buy real human hair or if you can return them if you can.

When synthetic hair gets damaged, it looks like **** so its best not to even try.

    Good luck though.
I say gett clip in jessica simpson extensions becuase it lets you blend ur real hair in them..other than tht ask to have your real hair on the top only synthetic on the bottom layers
yes chemical wld help and if u can curl them i wld curl them or straighten them with hair spray in it

Best way to care for synthetic hair extensions....how to keep it smooth and looking natural??

    Hey all...

So i bought a synthetic hair extension a while ago and have only worn it a few times....i would like to start wearing it again so wana know the best way to care for it - its got a really rough feel to it at the moment (maybe because i havent worn it for a while) and gets quite knotty .

So how do i care for it so it turns soft and natural looking again without it costing me alot???

THANKS GUYS!Best way to care for synthetic hair extensions....how to keep it smooth and looking natural??
Keeping synthetic hair up isn't costly at all. All u need is really good paddle brush and some type of oil. Nothing to heavy. Just brush it as often as possible and it keep it shiny. Try not to use hairspray because it will make the hair look piecey and cheap. I suggest something like a silicon based serum, just to keep it smooth and give it nice shine. The best the you can do is Brush the hair with a nice wide paddle brush to keep the knots out and maintain the smooth look.Best way to care for synthetic hair extensions....how to keep it smooth and looking natural??
Hi!! You can use a scarf at night when you go to bed to keep it looking fresh. They have hair refreshers or braid sprays which most of them do the same to keep natural and synthetic hair looking fresh. Go to a beauty hair store and check out what kind of a spray or sheen to maintain its beauty. Hope I've help!!

How long do Jessica Simpson synthetic hair extensions last?

Please only write an answer if youre answering my question..thanks :)How long do Jessica Simpson synthetic hair extensions last?
Ask her.How long do Jessica Simpson synthetic hair extensions last?
those things are pooop. completely and totally. i bought them and wasted 100 dollars on them, too. its better off to invest in real human hair because you can style them however you want.

the jessica simpson ones get tangled all of the time, tonns of knots, and the piece was too big for my head so it looked soo unnatural.

i ended up buying real human hair extensions and dropped 200 dollars. =[ it was not cool, but at least its better than having fake-looking hair.
it really depends on how u style ur hair to how long they last. but most of the time they wont last over a few months bc the ends will start to dry out and fray.
till someone puts a match to them

    Synthetic hair extensions?

i have them and i was just wondering if i could take them to the hairdresser to get the split ends trimmed? And will getting them trimmed get rid of some of the length?

    thankyou!

    xxSynthetic hair extensions?
Well if you got them from a hairdresser the hairdresser should have trimmed them for you but if you need a touch up you can go to a regular hairdresser for them to be fixed I suggest going to a beauty school because not everyone knows how to cut them and beauty school instructors know just about everything. And it's not to expensive. You should only need a half and inch off because as your own hair grows with them them fake hair seperates and you should get them maintenanced once a month by getting a deep conditioner for your scalp and the new growth sheds so you need those trimmed as well. They look like little white buds popping out of your scalp.Synthetic hair extensions?
well, because its that type of hair it frays so that is why i use more human like hair instead of synthetic, you can do what ever you would do with your own hair. its a little pricey but good quality. and no, not if its a ';trim';.
Trimming synthetic hair could make the split ends more noticable, don't get it razored, get a cut. And you will have to remove some length.

    im not sure

please dont type the answer just, ';no'; without any proof or explanation

    i need proof and don't just say ';cus the hair would melt and get frizzy';

i dont see any proof that will be, tell me how it destroys or wont work on synthetic hair.

10 pointsCan you dye synthetic hair extensions?
I did answer your question before, I thought I did left some reason why you can't dye them, maybe I didn't.

Anyway again my answer will be NO you can't dye your Synthetic hair at all.

The reason is that synthetic is made from plastic, plastic will melt if heat is presented.

Hairdye has chemical ingredients, when you combined the content from the package together. Its produces a little heat. This bleach and/or stain the color on the hair. This will build more heat once applied after a few minutes. This causes your synthetic hair tangled up and melted.

Can you dye synthetic hair extensions?
you cant cuz its not real hair its like plastic im sure it wont melt from dying it but i dont think it would come out the color u want it because its not real hair also it would really really dry it out the synthetic one are already dry as it is but that would make it worse
well theyre synthetic, they're plastic and fake. You can't dye them at all. :(

    They'd just melt........google it
    no, i have tried.

the fake or synthetic hair just won't take the dye.
    no.

its like dying a wig you get from halloween

it wont melt it it just won't dye

itll slip off and won't do anything.

    Synthetic hair extensions...?

can you style synthetic hair extensions with a straightner or curling iron ?

    many thanks ;)

    becaa xxSynthetic hair extensions...?
No, I am afraid you can't because synthetic hair can't be straightened or curled. If you do use the straightner or the curling iron on synthetic hair, it will burn. I suggest you buy human hair extensions because you can straighten them and make curls with them.Synthetic hair extensions...?
no they will melt with heat styling

you cant wash them either coz they tangle up
    nope it'lll burn
It depends on the hair extensions... some extensions can be curled/straightened at low temperatures, but some cannot. I've found that even the ones that say they can be curled/straightened always get ruined when i do it... Human hair extensions all the way if you want them to last :)
nope they will just burn or melt!

    Synthetic hair extensions..?

I really want hair extensions and i noticed that synthetic ones were a lot cheaper.. but do they feel like barbie doll hair?

Or do they feel like natural hair?

I can also get human hair extensions but they're a lot more expensive..

Which ones look better?Synthetic hair extensions..?
Synthetic is fake hair, and it gets tangled easily. You can't dye, straighten, or curl it. However, with human hair extensions, you can practically do anything with it.

Where can I buy synthetic hair extensions other then online?

My friends have all got real hair extensions that cost them around 拢70 however after only a few months they have got tangled and just don't look nice also they can rarely be bothered with the hassle of putting them in so I don't want to spend that much on something I will rarely use and that won't last long. I have seen the synthetic versions and they look almost identical to the real hair at a fraction of the cost. Now I know a salon that provides these but they charge over the odds and I also have seem some horribly cheap versions in places like claires accessories so I was wandering is there any high street store that sells synthetic hair extensions at a mid-range price.i.e about 拢30. I want them to be about a foot below shoulder length and enough to cover the whole head.Where can I buy synthetic hair extensions other then online?
The best place is your local beauty supply shop. Where they sell hair products and straighteners and what nots. I don't know if they have them where you live but the price for synthetic hair is usually a lot less then that. DO NOT go to claires. Their hair is merely costume and cannot hold up against anything. If you can't find a beauty supply store, some salons may sell the hair to you.Where can I buy synthetic hair extensions other then online?
do not buy them in claires!!

if you want ones that make your whole head of hair look longer your really not going to get them below 30 pounds and you will want them to be human hair not synthetic because synthetic will tangle a LOT. i'm not sure where to buy them in england but i would try your local beauty supply store.
The best place is your local beauty supply shop. Where hair supplies and blowdryers. Or if you have a pop corn near you. they sell very nice extensions... and its not alot at all. and why would you go to claires?

    never go to claires
    Sally Beauty Supply.
Im always buyin extentions, i dont go into town for them though i go down the back streets there cheaper and better, sally is expensive and u dont get alot of hair, if want them you want them to look really so u cant see your realy hair, where i get my from there only like 拢30 拢40 and thats for like 20 inch, it depends what sort of hair you want though the synthetic stuff you cant straighten or wash if you want the real good hair though, ask for the russian hair thats the best hair there is. And if u cant be bothered clipping them in all the time glue them in, its what i do plus when you get them from the back streets you get loads of hair my covers my hair and i still have atleast a strip left :] x

Human hair extensions or synthetic hair extensions?

If I bought human clip in hair extensions it would cost me 拢40

But if I bought synthetic it would cost me 拢5

I've had the synthetic ones before and I curled them with straighteners every time I used them, which obviously damaged them. For one pack I wore them about 5 times, with them looking real, after that they got to dry and I have to bin them.

If I did bought them again I would use curlers, because straighteners damage them to badly so they would probably last allot longer, but not as long as human hair extensions I'm assuming.

How long do human hair extensions actually last? because at the moment I'm thinking synthetic are better value for my money.Human hair extensions or synthetic hair extensions?
Hey. Ive had synthetic and human clips.

Synthetic are ****. Theyre shiny and frizzeled lol.

Human hair is more expensive but they can last up to 5 years if theyre really well looked after.

You can straighten them and they actually look reall!!

okay do NOT use synthetic extensions they're REALLY REALLY trashy!!!

    and they like never last!!!

    fake plastic hair. NO

human hair or Yak extensions are the best cause they do NOT melt.

just make sure to NEVER comb your extensions and buy a loop brush which is used especially for extensions synthetic and genuine hair and is more gentle on the extensions and to take care of your extensions!!!!

human hair extensions with proper care can last MONTHS. with daily use.
Well Carmela W, the hair isn't necessarily from poor countries. Thats not a fact.

To answer your question go with human hair, it lasts much longer, and feels so much better. I would lay off the strightner. Try using curling irons or round brushes to curl your hair, or just buy curly hair.
get human hair 1s its well worth the money you can have them for over a yr if you look after them.. and the added bonus you can strighten and curl them no problem. but you have to look after them properly lol

    goodluck
Human hair extensions area always your best option.
    human extensions!!

they WILL last longer and look better!

synthetic extensions look like ****! they dont even look like hair. so fake.
    Human hair Definitely

They can last for ages if you take care off them

    And they look better
you have to think what woman would cut off her hair for money? its not fair and is exploiting women from poor countries. please stick to synthetics!
    defff real.

    synthic are stupid looking lol
ive tried both and human hair is DEFINATELY waaaaaaaay better synthatic hair cannot even be styled with straightners nd stuff.. i say go for human hair really worth the money

and try buying them from ebay they CHEAP plus they last up to 6-9 months if you take care of em properly

There are a few ways to put fake hair in. You can have it glued in, which I wouldn't recommend. You could get tracks put in, where the fake hair is sewed to a cornrowed braid. I personally have used hair extensions, and I have not had a problem with them, but you must be careful, because if they are not put in properly, It could damage your natural hair. Human hair looks of course more natural than synthetic hair, so I would recommend human hair. Where I come from, hair is not expensive at all, so have fun and good luck!!
They don't ruin your hair as long as you get them sewed in. Don't get the glue. As far as taking care of them, I think it depends in what kind you get. Some of them you might need to flat iron them to get them striaght after washing them.

you should have bought real hair then. you can get them wet possibly with a little gel and braid them. let the dry for a few days then un-do the braids and you should have waves.
wet them and wrap them around a rectangular piece of card board untill they dry. this will give them a crimpy shape that you can loosen to waves by stretching.
    you could try scrunching them!

But you should try looking around for real hair extensions!

    Synthetic hair extensions?

Im getting EasiXtend extensions soon and the site says you can apply some heat to the Synthetic extensions When I only thought you could do this to the human hair since the synthetic would melt or burn. So can you apply heat? Cause every synthetic extensions I have ever had burn when I straighten/curl themSynthetic hair extensions?
Synthetic burns... don't do that!Synthetic hair extensions?
aww im sorry no you can you'll burn it trust me no omly human hair
It's true, it will burn/melt if you use a curling iron. You can use heat on it, but extremely low/mild heat, like warm rollers, or a short time under a dryer (again, very low heat). that will set it.

When I used to braid my hair, I'd wrap the ends (very long braids, mind you) around the skeletons of sponge rollers, and hold them in boiling hot water for 15-20 seconds, then dipped them in cold water to set the curls (and cool them off!). Curled beautifully.

    Looking after synthetic hair extensions?

I've just [accidentally] bought some synthetic clip ins from eBay [forgot to check if they were human.. they weren't]. Anyway, I've had clip ins before, but I was buying some new ones because I've just gone blonde.

Anyway, wondering how I can look after them to keep them nice and make them last as long as possible, although I'm aware they'll be crap compared to my previous human ones.

Anyway, tips for washing, drying, styling etc?

Also, wondering if they'll kink if I plait them? And if this'll last through washes, because the main reason I'm bummed about getting synthetics is because I can't bloody style them, obviously, and as my hair's quite thick I had to curl/wave my old ones so they didn't look stupid with my actual hair.

ANYWAY, thanks for reading ;)Looking after synthetic hair extensions?

Or have any experience with synthetic ones?

Personally i don't think they look too shabby in the picture, i use human hair clip ins, and i couldn't tell these ones were synthetic. Until i read that they were after i had bought them.

    DDD:Accidently bought synthetic hair extensions.?
    Oh My God,

i recently bought some similar to these off ebay by accident too!

    They're alright,

I noticed that the hair doesn't 'moult' as much as human hair extensions and they last for a longer time, which is good. But... They seem to fry when exposed to heat appliances and become frizzy and knotty.

Also the unnatural 'barbie doll' shine some have on them adds to the fake-factor.

There are both good and bad things about both types of extensions... But i guess they all do their job.

So don't freak, Im sure they'll be fine!

And the girl at the shop told me i can straighten them occasionlly if i don't have my straightener up really high.. and also that i can curl them occasionally too. Did i pay too much? I guess its too late now though.

Does anyone have them? I've been looking around the internet and everyones saying synthetic hair extensions are bad, and that they look really fake. So im a bit worried because i just spent all my money on them! :SPop synthetic hair extensions?
they suck...you should have asked before you paid for them...you won't be able to wash, dry, curl or color them like you would human hair. they are made of plastic and will not only melt to a hard clump of junk but possibly ruin your thermal tools as well.Pop synthetic hair extensions?
I also have hair extensions and I only pay 100 dollars for human hair. There are some really nice synthetic hair extensions, but I only get then if I wear it for a short period of time like maybe 2 weeks. Its seems like this hair was not worth the price because you can only straighten it occasionally. If you would have gotten human hair you can straighten it as much as you want!! Take them back!! Hope I helped!
SYNTHETIC HAIR EXTENSIONS ARE NEVER GOOD!!!!!!!

    you should have gotten human;

ALL synthetic are fail hair and ont last long.

not to mention you cant do ANYTHING with them.

and NO you cant straighten them! it burns the hair, same for curling.

    you got ripped off hunn.

btw, if you want cheapish GOOD quality hair try www.myspace.com/bizarreboutiqexx

thts my shop, but i can guarantee my hair is 349029432x btr then that synthetic stuff,

  • Dying synthetic hair extensions.?

Recently i was in China, and there i bought a pack of what the people said were real hair 18'; extensions. They were the wrong colour, they were light brown with blond tips and my hair was at the time dark brown but they said it was real so i could dye it any colour i like. So i took them home, and then I died my hair black, along with the extensions. After washing out my newly dyed hair, I washed the hair extensions, and they were exactly the same colour. =_= so, i thought well, maybe it was the dye. Today i straighted a bit of the tips of the hair, and it melted. Synthetic obviously,

    Sooooooo, I was wondering,

Is there any way to dye synthetic extensions permanently?

Ive tried Sharpie, it didnt work, and hair dye didnt work either. Does anybody know about black ink or anything else ive missed?

Thank you ver ver much,Dying synthetic hair extensions.?
There is no way to dye synthetic hair extensions since they are pieces of fake hair. Dye won't affect them because there are no nutrients for the dye to be absorbed into.Dying synthetic hair extensions.?
If it it synthetic, it probably wont hold the color well.

whatever you do, do not HEAT THIS HAIR

after you dye it, it will shrivvle up and fall off

(much like barbie hair, which is synthetic)

If it is 100%26amp; human hair extensions,

you can do what ever you please.

But synethetic, you need to be careful.

    NO BLEACH, NO HEAT

    Washing Synthetic hair extensions?

Hi. I have synthetic clip on hair extensions that i got form my local chatters hair salon. The brand is Pop and its ten piece straight hair synthetic hair pieces. They are NOT heat friendly.

I like to tye it up in a pony tail kinda like a side pony tail and i remove some form my hair so it doest look to bulky. But i recently groomed it because it had A LOT of knots in it, and after i grromed it, it was much softer and nice, BUT now it just looks too bulky and when i tye it up the ends are the most bulkies and its bad because it should be the other way around.

    So here are my questions.

    1. If i wash it, will it become less bulky and like how i first got it? or will it ruine it more?

2.what temperature of water do I use to wash them in?

3.Should I use shapoo and conditioner when I wash it? If so is there a specidal one I should buy or shoudl I use my own?

4.When i wear them down, for soem reason it looks really bad and bulky! liek a big clumy and it kind of looks like i've never had a hair cut kind like a cave woman lol, but on the box the person looked relaly good, is there a video that shows how top put them on?

thankyou! i know its a lot but im relaly desperate! pleas please! take the time, and answer as many as u can! thankyou!Washing Synthetic hair extensions?
I'm not really sure what the problem is since you haven't described it well. A pic would really help.l

But synthetic extensions are usually some sort of plastic, like orlon, kanekelon, or something like that. You can safely wash it with any mild detergent such as your regular shampoo. There won't be much oil on it, or styling aids, but that will all come off easily when washed. Use hand warm temps, swish in your soapy water a few times, and then rinse well. Blot (don't rub) and hang to dry. That should be it. Conditioners won't do much since they are usually waxes or oils and they won't do plastic any good.

As for the bulk you say you seem to have, maybe you are putting them in the wrong way? I thought the purpose of extensions was to add more hair (bulk) than you had. Because we can't see it, we don't know what you really mean.

The best thing is to go back to the store where you got them, and ask how to care for them and how to wear them. You should also be able to go into any salon and ask why they look so bulky to you. They have the experience, and will be able to actually see them and be able to give you the help you want.

    Synthetic hair Extensions?

My mum was going to buy me some hair extensions for my birthday,

but since we've jus moved into a new house and bought a new car etc she can't afford the human hair ones that I was origionally meant to get at the moment,

she said that I could wait a month for her to buy me some human hair ones,

or she could buy me some of those Jessica Simpson synthetic ones.

Are synthetic hair extensions worth it, or should I just wait?Synthetic hair Extensions?
    WAIT

i tried synthetic hair and it looked like a rats nest on my head i even keeped it clean and i took way good care of it but evertime i put them in they would look all raddy and gross if i were you i would wait till you have the money!!! But have fun with your extensions they are wicked sweet looking i bet they would look good on you!!! (Even though i have no idea what you look like) :DSynthetic hair Extensions?
just wait to get real ones synthetic ones just look bad

    Synthetic hair extensions?

I currently have real human hair extension, but I've found that they're too much to keep up with. After washing them they curl, which is good because my hair is naturally curly. I have no reason to straighten/curl them, which ultimately was the reason I got real hair extensions.

I've heard that synthetic are cheaper and easier with upkeep? Is this true, or is it not worth my money? I definately don't want my hair to look fake, but I don't want to have to pay the money for real human hair extensions.Synthetic hair extensions?
Synthetic hair is cheaper than human hair. I would say upkeep would be relatively the same. Synthetic hair can get really ratty at the ends from rubbing against fabrics, but so can human hair.

There is a type of synthetic hair that looks just like human hair. it's premium synthura you can actually use low heat on this type of hair up to 200 degrees.

There's also kanekalon hair which also looks just like human hair. You can also apply low heat to this type of hair as well.

    journeytonaturality.blogspot.comSynthetic hair extensions?
I've had synthetic hair extensions before and after comparing them with real human hair extensions, there is no comparison. Synthetic hair extensions look like Barbie doll hair.

Real human hair extensions are much better because you can dye them along with your own hair so they look much more natural. They add a bit of drama, length and volume.

If you want to add some variety to your hair extensions, why don't you try adding an extra set? A little bit longer? Or you could try using a crimping iron, or one of those new three barrel crimpers which is what a lot of models are using these days.

I ordered some human hair extensions off ebay from sensational hair and beauty, I'm pretty excited because they're 20 inches in length! Hopefully I won't have to dye them to match my hair but if I do I'll probably end up taking them to a salon.

you cant use heat on synthetic extensions they melt

so you wouldn't be able to use curling tongues

    you could use plastic curlers

but that's if they work i wouldn't know as i don't have them

also synthetic are plastic which gives them a shine which is what makes them look unnatural

and as its not real hair its not a natural colour its a chemical colour

Can you dye synthetic hair extensions?

I bought a couple of hair extensions. I ordered ';Darkest Brown'; But they look more black then anything! I do have dark hair, but dark BROWN...can I dye them to make them match my hair? Thanks. Can you dye synthetic hair extensions?
Yes you can dye hair extensions, but no, not black ones. You can't bring black to brown. And if you try to bleach it, it'll just come out all orange and ugly. If you can't take them back and you paid a lot of money for them, I suggest dyng your hair the same color as them. Dark brown is always iffy. I always dye my hair dark brown and I can never remember which brand I use, so the 'dark brown' always comes out different. This time it was pretty much black. Just try washing it a bunch and see if it lightens up naturally. Sorry bout that, and good luck! Can you dye synthetic hair extensions?
Debs is absolutely right!!! Fortunately for you there is also color remover for fabrics. All you have to be proficient at is the science of color. For example to make brown 3 parts blue, 2 parts red, and 1 part yellow. From there it's a cake walk. Oh and to perm synthetic hair.....dampen the hair, roll on appropriate sized rods and bake in a very low temperature oven on a wig block 'til dry. In other words....Don't do it. Spend the money to either dye your hair to match or to buy human in your color. Good luck.
I don't think you can dye synthetic hair with our regular hair dye. You need to use a fabric dye, may be.
You can dye the hair but we would recommend seeking professional help for this, or if you are feeling adventurous, dye at home but only darker. Do not try and bleach the hair.

Can You dye synthetic hair extensions?

Yaaa! Ha! Im only 14 and i work at high v. I cant be spending all my money on real human hair extensions. I want to make coon tails, but my mom wouldn't let me do it to my real hair...so i was going to do it to some extensions. But i dont have real human hair extension. Can You dye synthetic hair extensions?
you CANNOT dye synthetic hair extensions. it wont come out and will frizz the extensions.

you can buy real extensions from sallys beauty supplies for 8$ and and dye them and make them into clip ins.

its the same thing just in pink. Can You dye synthetic hair extensions?
Synthetic hair extensions aren't worth it. Your hair will look gross after about a week, and you can't maintain it well. I don't think dye will take well with fake hair either. Sally's usually sells cheap human and synthetic hair extensions though. Ask a sales rep at Sally's if they would recommend putting dye on synthetic extensions though.

    Hope that helps! :}

NO. You cant do anything to synthetic hair extensions. You cannot dye, you cannot heat style. They are plastic, you cant do anything with them. Can you dye synthetic hair extensions?
Great Lengths Hair Extensions is the top of the line Hair Extension System. Many celebrities use Great Lengths due to the high hair quality, and it has very small hair bonds, that make it undetectable. Great Lengths hair is cared for just like your natural hair. You can Brush it, color it, use straighteners, perm it, use hairdryer, curling Iron and all other standard styling tools. Great Lengths has topped the list of many popular magzines for being the hottest hair extension system across the country.

I am a Certified Great Lengths Specialist and Hairstylist, trained and coached in the field of Hair Extensions. With Great Lengths 100% human hair is used for the extensions. They come pre-bonded with a polymer keratin bond (not glue). The bond is attached to your own natural hair using a high frequency unit that is heated to the same temperature as a curling iron. Great Length comes in many sizes and lengths, and Great Lengths pricing depends on amount of hair you will need for your style. The hair is great for people with curly hair, straight hair and even comes in wavy textures also. If you are looking for a Great Lengths Hairstylist - please visit my website at: http://www.GetGreatLengthsHair.com

Great Lengths hair comes in many different colors and lengths. When you come in for a consultation, I will help you choose a hair color and hair length for Great Lengths, that looks best for your head shape, your hair needs, and your budget and your personality. Great Lengths is one of my top of the line systems, and therefore is not inexpensive.

Great Lengths hair feels just like your own hair. If you never had hair extensions before, Great Lengths is one of the best systems around. Clip-on or Track based systems take some getting use too for the first time, compared to pre-bonded systems, like Great Lengths. I have many repeat customers for Great Lengths, and they tend to stick with Great Lengths, because the hair is very easy to take care of, and do last a very long time.

Great Lengths Hair Extensions are made of 100% Natural human Hair. The quality is so great, because it is temple hair from India, and Great Lengths has huge contracts to buy up all of the hair donated to the temples. They buy tons of hair each month, and no other corporation in the hair extensions industry, can make their scale and size. They only keep and use the best, and it is processed and sold only to the best salons.

The hair typically lasts from 4-6 months, depending on care. People, who come to me for maintenance on a regular basis, have their hair extensions last the longest. Like it is in any hair extension, the better you care, the longer the hair extension lasts. We will provide you with the correct hair care instructions.

My Name is Christina, and I would like to help you for your next hair extension decision.

    Synthetic hair extensions?

I want blue hair extensions, but for a short period of time. Are there any hair extensions that clip in, and if there are, can you tell me how much they cost? Thanks!Synthetic hair extensions?
There's lots of different brands, the ones you clip in cost anywhere from 20-+100 dollars. If you're just leaving them in for a short period, I would get the cheap ones. Go to your local beauty supply store (Barnums is my favorite) and they'll point you in the right direction.Synthetic hair extensions?
That website - Above - is a well-known online directory for Natural and Synthetic hair extensions. I found it useful many times, so i recommend you to use it.
Here is an excellent site with some wonderful options 4 U.

How do you straighten synthetic hair extensions?

    don't.

it'll probs burn it.How do you straighten synthetic hair extensions?
Don't! My friend did that and it fried the hair. Now she can't use itHow do you straighten synthetic hair extensions?
you cant really - it completely frazzles them

How long do synthetic hair extensions last?

If they are glued in nd you take care of them and your hair doesn't grow freakishly fast probably around 2 months. If you did them yourself with glue good luck at getting them out. That glue is a beyotch i had to use the oil stuff to loosen the hair and then my boyfriend went and took a fine tooth comb and picked out the hlue because it stays on your scalp and i felt like he was picking lice out of my hair (yuck) If you are a DIYer like me I suggest clip in extensions. Not the wft pieces like they sell at sally's because you run the risk of not having enough hair, that happened to me because I have thick hair and the extensions were much thinner. I like the Jessica Simpson extensions and you can get them on Ebay or if you have a beauty world near you or go to the website hairuwear.com and it will find the nearest retailer. If however you aren't made of money there is another kind (it's also on the hairuwear website) called POP or put on pieces and they sell it at my target for like $20 and its the same thing!!!!! The lengths are just a lil bit shorter. You could search that and find where it sells closest to you. Good Luck! HAve fun with your hair! How long do synthetic hair extensions last?
Synthetic hair doesn't last very long, because it goes tacky and it get knotty etc, probably around a month. You can have it like for another month but it won't be as great as the first. Human Hair is a better investment. How long do synthetic hair extensions last?
It depends on how well you look after them, they can last up to 3 mths.
As long as you want them to last...You will have to replace(Or reglue/sew them) them every 2-3 months though.
the hair itself should last forever.

but the way you attach them effects how long they'll stay in your hair.

gluing isn't as permanent, it's easy to tear the pieces out

but micro braiding or sewing can last several months.

Synthetic hair extensions or human hair extensions?

Alright so I'm getting hair extensions, and I don't know if I should get synthetic or human hair.

I know with synthetic you can't style them, but I mostly wear my hair straight. I don't do fancy styles like curling with my hair.

I'm getting them from Sally's. I saw these http://www.sallybeauty.com/Paris-Hilton-鈥?/a> and read the reviews. Most people thought they were great (and they're synthetic). Plus they're not as much money as the human hair ones. I saw the pictures on the package directions, and they actually look real. Should I get them?Synthetic hair extensions or human hair extensions?
I recommend human hair just because it lasts longer and sometimes synthetic hair tends to fall out and get ratty looking after awhile. But if you're on a budget and would rather get the synthetic hair than by all means go for it.

:)Synthetic hair extensions or human hair extensions?
you should get the human hair ones you may not like to style you hair but you most likely like to straighten it and dont get the clip in ones get the track weave and either bond it or sew it in the human ones last longer and it doesn't get bushy
Get synthetic. Never get human hair, because you don't know what has been in it! It is also much more expensive, and if you're not going to style your hair very much, just go with synthetic. They look nearly as real as human hair.
Human ones, synthetic ones don't move, and you can actually style human hair extensions.

I dont think you can with synthetic ones.

Please help many thanks xClip-in synthetic hair extensions help !?
I have had human extensions for about a year and one of my friends had synthetic hair extensions as well. Synthetic hair extensions will melt if treated with any heat and get tangled easily. Real hair extensions are not much more costly than fake and you can get them just as easily as the synthetic. Try sally's beauty supply or any other beauty supply store. the quality of the real hair is much better in every way and worth the added cash.

if you do not want to purchase new extensions so soon, you can cut the frizzy ends or use product to tame them. also a nice straightener well help tame them. i use a CHI regularly and it definelty helps the ends stay strong.Clip-in synthetic hair extensions help !?

Like the person said above. No combing or heat on synthetic hair. It makes it worse. Brush it. You should consider buying human hair extensions next time.
You have to brush it no combing, no heat and no more synthetic hair after this. its the worst human hair is always better and more manageable

or google if they really sell them at the places i listed(srry that i cnt name moree) like seach sallys and see if they have a website which im shur they do. infact, i got mine ther an i think they had curly, not wavy. so you should go ceck it out. hope i helpeddd ( :I need help with my synthetic hair extensions !!!!!!?

like plastic. and than comb through

no its not possible. if you curl or put any heat on the extensions it will melt. you cant even blow dry it. and cutting it will probably make it harder to comb. synthetic extensions are like barbie hair.

You can't curl/straighten or dye or wash them (with shampoo %26amp; conditioner) they sometimes look fake just put them in and see if they are ok. I have some synthetic hair extensions just streaks and they look ok on me and not fake at all. So see how they look.

If you curl/straighten them the heat damages them.

If you dye them the chemicals in the dye damages them.

even some synthetic hair extensions can use heat on them.usually to a certain temperature.

mine can have about 130 degrees on them without getting damaged.

take a tiny but of it and use a very low setting on ur straightener and try that.if it doesnt get damaged go ahead and use it all over but use a bit of heat protection spray on the extensions and make sure u dont keep the iron in place for long.swift motions and verrrrrry low heat setting
why don't you flat iron it?

Depends on the type you have. Most cannot be curled with a curling iron, use hot rollers to curl synthetic when I had mine those worked and did not burn them. Can you curl synthetic hair extensions?
if you bought it online it should say in the website, if you bout it at a store ask the person that works there. They usually can be curled. Can you curl synthetic hair extensions?
synthetic hair can be curled, straightened, crimped, and braided. u just have to get the right hair products for it.
Synethic hair CAN'T be Curled, Colored, Straightened, or anything else like that....It will melt/burn..whatever it does..
synthetic hair can not be curled. I think it will burn so be careful.
go to www.myspace.com/swazefest and email him he know alot about that stuff
only if u want to catch ur hair on fire...lol my mom did that once...funiest thing ive ever seen!
Idk. They might burn from the heat...
no. use cold curlers and hairspray

stuff like serum silicone wax oil are ok 4 extensions, but stuff like gel, mousee and spray will make uur clip ins break outCan u put hair products in synthetic hair extensions/weave?
no...especially when the extensions are synthetic.

in general, human extensions are better, they look more natural.

but even on human ones products aren't good to put on them.

if you put a product on a synthetic one, it will end up being sticky and might even ruin the extension.

I don't understand the need to put a product on synthetic extensions...but if it turns out bad, you can always wash them with a mild shampoo.
you can use maybe some oil sheen or shine spray. i really wouldnt recommend using any lotions or creams
yes you can but not alot of it like a dime size evenly on the hair

    Styling synthetic hair extensions?

Hi, I know that there is no hope in curling synthetic extensions with tongs, but I was wondering if I could use mousse, heated rollers or hairspray? Has anyone tried this with synthetic hair - this is my first set I'd appreciate some advice on styling them, thanx xxStyling synthetic hair extensions?
-Wrap the synthetic hair around something round. ( The size you want your curl )

-Dip it into hot water for about 5-10 seconds.

-Take it out and let it dry.

-When its completely dry, un wrap the hair and you'll have a curl!

I wouldnt use mousse or hairspray on synthetic hair, it will ruin it.Styling synthetic hair extensions?
If you plan to curl your own wig you must first make sure that you own the proper curling iron. You will want to purchase a curling iron with the lowest possible heat setting. Usually the least expensive curling iron will be the one with the lowest temperature output but always read the packaging label to make sure.

Secondly, you must make sure that you use a technique designed to minimize the curling iron's damage on the hair. If you are curling a synthetic hair wig, mist the hair with water before styling since the hair strands are made of plastic or nylon and can melt easily under high heat. The water will provide a barrier to high temperatures. If you have a human hair wig you can skip this step. Next, you will need to place another barrier, such as a thin cloth or a piece of tissue paper (the papers that come in home perm packages work great for this) between the hair strands and the barrel of the curling iron. This material will help distribute the heat, lower the temperature, and protect the actual hair strand.

Finally, when actually applying the curling iron to the hair strands you will want to use a gentle touch, do not tug on the hair strands or place too much pressure on the clamp of the curling iron. Once you have the hair wrapped around the barrel keep the hair strand moving across the heat source. If you allow the hair to stay against the barrel for any period of time it can damage the hair strand.

As an added layer of protection, you may want to purchase a heat protecting styling product if you plan to curl your own wig frequently. Specially formulated products are available that will help protect your wig from the heat and condition it during styling so that the hair won't melt or frizz during curling.
Instead of heating the rollers, roll up the synthetic hair in it..unheated :P.. Whilst it is rolled up spray it..let open the rollers and mousse it.
You can curl them on low heat

Then put some hair spray and leave-in-conditioner on them to amke them look more realistic

    :)
You can curl them on a very low heat setting and then hair spray them.

no it will probably ruin the extension because its not real and therefore the colour wont hold and it'll just be one big mess.

if they are really really cheap you could possibly try it or use it one some synthetic hair prior to putting it on your head...

but if you want to dye your extensions your going to need real human hair extensions and even then my hairdresser said that just messes them up!
    no, no, and no again.

i hate synthetic extensions, you can't curl them, straighten them, dye them... and they go frizzy after you've worn them like twice.

human ones are the ones that give you the real freedom to experiment :) x
No, you can't. if you wanna be able to dye them you need to get real human hair.

    Synthetic hair extensions tangling?

how do you keep clip in synthetic hair extensions from getting all knotted up?Synthetic hair extensions tangling?
Brush them lightly (emphasis on the lightly) with a fine comb every day.Synthetic hair extensions tangling?
Do not brush them with a fine comb. That will only cause more tangles to form. Instead try spraying a bit of water and using your fingers to untangle them. Keep them clean and wash them using the hair maintenance instructions provided with them. Always consult your local beautician or a professional hair stylist for specific hair care instructions.

Synthetic Hair Extensions are renowned for tangling and matting. That is the reason why they are much cheaper than the Human Hair Extensions which tangling 95% less and does not matte depending on the quality.
i've found cutting the knots out is the only way..

i'm sorry to hear you have bought synthetic hair extensions.. even the clip in ones will be unusable within three or four uses..

  • Real or synthetic hair extensions - which is more expensive?

Real extentions are more expensive and are better in terms of you can do the same things to them as ordinary hair.

But if you are going to get them i would do some research into where there have come from as they can sometimes be obtained through the forcing of people even children to shave off their hair.

However some hair is obtained through a religious ceremory that hindu women sometimes do and if so these women have generally given their hair voluntarily, but this tends to be a lot more expensive.Real or synthetic hair extensions - which is more expensive?
Real is more expensive but its much better quality

and it looks better, feels better and lasts longer too.Real or synthetic hair extensions - which is more expensive?
real hair costs more, just one strip and be anything from 50 to 100 pounds. i use synthetic cus its only 7:50 to a tenna from some shops :)
Real is more expensive...You can do anything you want with them..unlike Synthetic.

    Cost of Synthetic Hair Extensions?

I don't like the idea of someone else's hair on my head and real hair extensions would prolly cost more. Where can I get some for a good pricing?Cost of Synthetic Hair Extensions?
The cost of hair extensions varies. You are correct, synthetic hair extensions cost less than human hair extensions, but the cost to put them in is the same. In other words, synthetic hair is cheaper, but the cost of the application is the same as human hair. It also depends on whether you want a full head or not. BTW, synthetic hair extensions don't behave the same way that human hair does. You can't put heat on a lot of the synthetic ones. You should check around the area where you live for pricing. Call the beauty supply store for the hair and call a reputable salon for the application.Cost of Synthetic Hair Extensions?

its $80. (and i seen this sweat shirt i wanted hahaha...)Are synthetic hair extensions a big up keep?
Meh the girls/guy on that website look weird. You are a cute girl you should get the streaks on the side of your hair, but dont overdo it. Try 4-5 and try getting a color that stands out like maybe blue or pink. Are synthetic hair extensions a big up keep?
Honestly I got some done just some streaks of blonde I think i had 6-7 in, and I kept them for 2 weeks. I got sick of them. They are an absolute pain, if like me you straighten you hair... I you aren't careful you melt the glue, even if you are being carefull. And man oh man does it ever damage your hair,

especially for the fact that its where the new hair grows back in... You aren't giving your hair any chance. And it looks raty cause if your hair is somewhat thick or has volume you will be able to tell right away you have extensions cause the extensions are limp and thin...

I regret getting mine done, and I don't recommend anybody

doing that to their hair, get clip ins... alot less damage, and you wont have melted glue everywhere on your scalp...

Did I mention the synthetic hair constanly falls out, so over

a small period of time it really becomes thin.

Most hair dressers will dissagree but thats because they just

wanna get paid, so be careful.

    Hope this helped a bit.

    xoox
honestly hair extensions aren't really worth it...it'd be cheaper to just take the time and patience to grow your hair out yourself, but maybe you can find some that you can clip in. Try the color out first beceuase if you get the ones for 80 bucks you're stuck with them for 2-3 months like you said...and you might not end up liking that color or something.

    idk just a thought

    good luck
yea i would, ive always wanted to get them but my parents cant afford them. but they look awesome and would be fun

yes, but the hair will completely look fake and poorly made as they already do. it looks nappy/stawish look to it and will not last long at all. go with 100% human hair because you can do anything to it - color, cut, straighten, curl, etc. and will last up to a year or more

AND HAVE THE TOWEL NEAR YOU. WHEN YOU DRY IT , UN-BRAID THE HAIR AND IT WILL BECOME WAVY/CURLY.If you braid wet, straight, synthetic hair extensions...?

I'm buying hair extensions tomorrow and I was going to buy synthetic hair because it's cheaper then real human hair. But, I want to be able to straighten and curl them, can i do that to synthetic hair? Can you striaghten synthetic hair extensions?
No, it will burn them because they are plastic based and the heat will melt them right up and might even burn your head. The only way you can is by using a cool flat iron, not a hot flat iron. Or using a paddle brush while you blow dry the extensions with the dryer on cool. Don't apply heat to your extensions. Can you striaghten synthetic hair extensions?
don't listen to sarahkay... those are diff. hair extensions. if u really straighten/curl/blow dry or apply heat, it will turn frizzy and it has this ';sizzling'; sound like it's ready to burn. don't do it. trust me. been there. done that. ain't pretttyyy. good luck! =D
NO! it says you can on some packages, but when i did it to mine, they got really frizzy, course, and scraggly. and if you do it more than once, they'll melt.
i'm pretty sure you can because at hot topic they have synthetic hair pieces and you can curl, crimp, straighten and blow dry them

Im planning on getting the Jessica Simpson ones,

    any tips about them?

    Some -pros about them aswell?

    Thanks :DSynthetic hair extensions?
i have both synthetic and real hair extentions.

both clip in styles which is like the jessica simpson ones.

really; the only pro about synthetic ones is the cost. they tend to get ratty looking very easily and you cant use a straightener or anything with heat on them to style them, so basicly they're as is.

real hair extentions although costing more are much much better and will last. you may only wear them twice a week at most but you can colour them to match your hair exactly and if you change the colour of your hair to save you buying new ones.

ebay is a really good spot to find real clip in hair extentions , i got mine from there and i love them. to be safe get a lighter colour then your natural colour because it will be easier to match your own hair colour. they cost an average of around $70 and they are a much better option than synthetic ones.

both the synthetic and real ones are easy to look after. you can wash them and just leave them out to dry flat and brush them with a wide bristle brush.

theres my adivse i would take a look at real ones if i was you. much better value and they will last.

Natural or Synthetic Hair Extensions - Which Kind of Hair Gives Fabulous Results?

Natural hair extensions are made from real human hair while synthetic extensions are made from materials such as Kanekalon or Toyokalon.

Synthetic hair is less expensive than human hair and not constrained by the rules of natural hair growth.

This means you can be completely creative with synthetic hair extensions and make it as outlandish or colorful as you want. But it may look fake if it doesn't match the texture of your hair.

With natural extensions, your hair feels %26amp; styles more naturally. There are pros and cons for both choices.Natural or Synthetic Hair Extensions - Which Kind of Hair Gives Fabulous Results?
NATURAL!! you cant put heat on synthetic hair so if you ever want to try a different style You CANT! even going out in the sun ruins the fake hair.and it sucks Trust me i used to have synthetic ones..and the entire texture looks different from your own hair, you dont want people to obviously know that your hair is fake and you can definitely tell when people have synthetic hair..also natural hair lasts WAYYY longer i have had my natural hair extensions for over a year and when i had my synthetic hair i would have to buy new ones every month! also if you ever wanted to dye your extensions to match your hair or maybe you wanted to change your hair color..you cant dye the synthetic hair. and when i had mine i couldnt even brush the synthetic hair it would get so so so so nappy and disgusting definetly go with the real hair and also i have Dreamcatchers. www.dreamcatchers.com

Sorry sweetie, but synthetic hair extensions cannot be fixed after frizzing. Synthetic hair is like doll hair, not manageable and once frizzing starts, it doesn't stop, even if cut. Best advice, next time purchase human hair. Human hair is more expensive, but it lasts 3x longer with excellent results and can be re-used depending on the method of the weave...Good luck....

synthetic hair is Absolute rubbish ... when u apply heat they melt and go into what looks like a frizz ball also they dont feel nice and dont last long.... if you want hair extentions it mite be worth payin that bit extra for real hair..also u can wear them after homecoming.. with that you can curl, straighten them and even dye them also apply any heat ... i have real hair hair extenions and they have lasted me 7 months so far and i have dyed them and strighten them every day and were the m most days,, hoped i helped :D
Not sure exactly what Pony Braid in means, But Their is 2 ways you can put extensions in, Glue, or sew in(Where they braid tracks along they're head, then sew them in.)..You can't curl Synethic hair..Actually, You can't do much to Synethic hair.

Can i get away woth having blonde streaks in my (synthetic) hair extensions?

I recently was out shopping with friends when we when into a shop that was selling hair extensions so decided to buy some for a laugh. I have brown hair but could only find some that were brown woth blonde streaks. I bought them anyway, thinking i could dye them. No i know that i can't and i really like these extensions. what can i do?:SCan i get away woth having blonde streaks in my (synthetic) hair extensions?
If you try to lighten synthetic hair the bleach will burn it. You should be able to darken it though, if you really don't like the blonde, taking it close to your natural colour.

Why not try living with the blonde for a while and guage reaction - it may be that it looks great but it's you that's uncertain because it looks different! Can i get away woth having blonde streaks in my (synthetic) hair extensions?
Yeah wear them I would wear them to supercuts and have them color them and show me how to style them if they are to costly go to a hair college they style hair and extentions for less and they might be able to show you how to do it as well and give you tips.. But it your choice... if I were u I would wear them just makes sure watever you do they look natural. They shouldn't look like you got them from the rack @ sally's for $2.99

Are synthetic hair extensions real-looking and easy to use? Also, what do they cost & where can I buy them?

    hi there

    i wouldnt even bother!

i had one and it was a ponytail made from synthetic hair. i had to look after it so much and after 2 years it was no good.

If you want extensions i would invest in real hair extensions they are good. Cost from $700 up depending on the size of your head and if you want half or full head.

Professional hairdressers are the way to go.

Hope i helped yahAre synthetic hair extensions real-looking and easy to use? Also, what do they cost %26amp; where can I buy them?
there cheap and nasty and are mostly not real looking!! i wouldnt reccomend them at all unless your looking for the muppent hair look...... real hair may be expensive but is definitley worth it in the long run........ :)

Is it a bad idea to buy synthetic hair extensions?

i already have human hair extensions but they are staring to thin. is it bad to but those to thicken it up without spending a ton of money? i'm going to buy the sassy brand from sallysIs it a bad idea to buy synthetic hair extensions?
    no(:

that doesnt sound like a bad idea!

i have hair extensions as well.Is it a bad idea to buy synthetic hair extensions?
The synthetic ones looks really fake, and you can't style them with heat or anything. I'd say go buy some that don't have the clips in them, you can buy just packages of the hair... then cut it to fit your extensions you have already, and sew them into them. It helps to thicken up you existing extensions, but isn't as expensive as buying a new set.
i have synthetic hair extentions, normally i get real hair, but i decided to try synth cause it's way less expensive. honestly, it looks really nice at first, but you can't stop it from getting gross. like with real hair you can at least straighten it, but the synth wont become flat. it's kinda puffy, and not to mention it feels disgusting. i wanna take them out asap. lol. and sally's has the worst hair EVER!!! oh man, i will never go back there. they just want your money, they dont care about actually helping you. i got much better hair from a different place, a bit cheaper too. oh and also, they ';say'; that you can curl synth hair, but no, you can't.
As long as it looks good after you put them in, it doesn't matter whether they are real or not. I see many women with real hair extensions, and they don't look good at all. So make it look good and work it.
I personally wouldn't but thats because i straighten my hair everyday and obviously wouldn't be able to straighten the synthetic hair! it depends wether you use heat on your hair if you don't then it should be ok!
Don't get synthetic. As someone has already said, you can't really style it and it gets pretty gross. And it usually looks pretty fake, it's too shiny.
